Annie and her dog Star

Annie had been putting this off for a year. Her reason was that Star is fourteen, and her worry was that a session would feel like a goodbye. So we did not do a session. We did the walk they always do, and I stayed a few steps behind with a long lens.

Nothing here is arranged. The hill did the composing, the weather did the mood, and the two of them did what they do every Sunday morning regardless of whether anybody is photographing it.
