About this series
Event work is a different discipline to portraiture. You get one pass at everything, the light is whatever somebody else decided it would be, and the only way to cover it properly is to know the running order better than the people running it.
I shot this one from the walls. The client wanted the room to look full and the night to look like it was worth attending, and both of those are documentary problems rather than lighting problems.
